    Hi,
    I have a problem i have a video but it has massive black borders aroud the top and bottom edges.Can i remove these


    This is the video when it is playing,you can get a rough idea of the size of the borders.Can anyone help?

    Play it in something else, like PowerDVD or MediaPlayer Classic. The output from WMP is not much to go on. Anyway, if there really is this kind of huge black borders in the mpg, you have to filter and reencode.

    ok sorry for the bad pic but its all i can get a screenshot from.What program can i use to get rid of the borders then?

    It's not a bad pic - it's just that I don't trust WMP to display anything properly. Both PowerDVD and MPC has a built in "screen shot" function.
    I'd load it in AviSynth, crop it, and encode with quenc
    But keep in mind that every reencoding will lower the overall quality.
