Here is what i want to network and how they are connected.

    CPU 1
    AMD XP 1700+
    Win 98 OEM
Connected to a 5 port hub

    CPU 2
    Celeron 433
    Win 2000 Pro
Also connected to the same hub

Hub is connected to both computers and the adsl modem is connceted to the uplink port.

I swear i have Windows Networking setup correctly but it still won't work (the computers can't see each other). I think its because of the different OS.

I've never had to setup a windows network before so i'm not completely sure if its setup correctly. So if anybody knows a good networking tutorial or know a step by step guide on how to setup windows networking please email me.

    Thx in advance

If you are using a HUB, wont work...

You need a ROUTER for that...

However, if you install another NIC card on onfe of the PC's, and attach the cable modem(dslmodem) to that PC, and then setup Internet Connection Sharing, it should work fine ofr you then...

R-run Home Networking Wizard on the one you attacheh the modem to, and et it up to share the internet on the coerrect NIC... Sounds confusing, but just follow the prompts. Of just co to dircuit cuity and drop the cash for one of these:

I have an ADSL to ethernet modem. I connect the ethernet port a hub and several computers to the hub. I run the PPPoE software on each computer. I also use static unroutable IP's, 192.168.0.x, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0. If you do not have an ADSL to ethernet modem then connect the modem to the computer and use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Search Google on this, there is a wealth of how to's. I used this when I had a dial up account and worked fine. If you use ICS use DHCP rather than a static IP on the remote computers.

    Good luck,
