  1. Hi,

I've a DivX hardware player from LG and it plays gr8!
I've tried playing DivX DVDs and they work perfectly.. but my question is - What happens when I burn *.DAT and *.MPG (VCD formats) in data disc format in DVD?? Will my DivX DVD player recognise it?
I'm really preplexed ..I can try, but that'll amount to one DVD being wasted

  2. Use RW disc. DAT - not sure, but if your player can play MPEG-ISO them .mpg should work.

Glad to know MPG & DAT will be supported in DVD Data discs as well.. On the other hand, pretty sad that I din't get a definitive answer

The only definative answer is try it for yourself (it costs you the price of an RW disk - $2) and you will know the answer, definatively. It varies from player to player.
