  1. I have a Pioneer DVR 110 Burner as master and Nec ND 3530a as the slave in my Dell XPS 400 computer. Poneer drive I use as the ripper it is very fast and I burn using NEC drive. Now my problem is when I use a DVD-R disc as my source to burn a DVD+R disc IT WON'T LET ME BURN the +R disc says please insert A dvd-R disc. Same happens when I use a +R disc as my source to burn A -R disc. I am using ULEAD burn now software which came with the Pioneer burner. Any reason for this? I had a Samsung- Toshiba DVD-ROM as the master before and it never gave me this problem. So it seems like this happens when you are using another burner to rip the - or+ R discs. Does anyone here know how to correct this problem? Any advice or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

As much as I hate to say it, Nero would probably work better for burning.
It sounds like a Ulead problem.

Or you can look to the left for 'Burn' and try some other programs for burning.

I'm thinking your version of Ulead may be outdated and not properly recognizing the burners and their capabilities. Not uncommon with bundled sofware.

  3. Thanks for the quick response. Before I installed the Ulead software I had Sonic from Dell. And that also gave me this prolem. So I uninstalled it and installed the Ulead which is also giving me this probelm. That software came with the Pioneer burner so can it be out dated? The version is Ulead burn now 2.0 and Ulead movie factory 4 This is not happening when I use the DVD rom as the ripper instead of a Burner. Any idea's?

I'd give Nero a try that's available for just $5 to $6 from some vendors including http://www.surpluscomputers.com/store/main.aspx and install latest updates from Nero after install. It's also possible your drive configuration could be a problem since some drive instructions state the drive should be configured as Master or Slave. If that's the issue, you will need to have the 2 DVD drives on different channels which might require IDE adapter card if both drive instructions state drives should both be Master or both be Slave.

  5. iT'S A nec 3530a. I don't know if that drive needs to be Configured that way. Do you know? Also I tried Nero it also says to insert DVD-R or -RW and won't except the + format when trying to Burn. I found out something else too. When the source is a -RW I am able to burn that on to a + or -. The problem only happens when I try to burn a -R source to a + or +R source to a - format.
