I am trying to backup a DVD . The original DVD media is DVD9 disk and is around 7G or so. I decrypted using DVDDecrypter using FILE mode. I want to back it up to DVD+/-R (4.7G) media. When I compress it using Shrink or Nero Recode, the resultant output is greater than 4.5G and hence they complain. I can strip out the Menus/Extras and leave out the MainTitle, but it is still > 4.5G. The main problem seems to be that the MainTitle has a DTS5.1 audio stream that is greater than 500M. If I deselect it , then I could burn it , but the resultant DVD does not have any sound. What should I do to fit this on a 4.7G disc?

hmm...are you sure there wasn't an alternate 5.1 dolby digital track? It's usually pretty standard to make the dvd compatible.

I guess you are saying even with just the main movie and the DTS only audio track it won't let you shrink it small enough to fit on a single layer dvd...(moving the slider all the way to 50% or whatever the lowest setting is.

if there really isn't another audio track and you don't care alot about the video you can run it through shrink twice. use deep analysis mode both times to try and lessen the signal degredation.
