    Topic.

Plus i have been using programs like TMPGEnc to convert my videos to desired format yet the output doesn't have any sound but i've ticked the checkbox for audio and video.

So i will like to know who can solve the above mentioned problem of 'Audio Codec Driver'.

Is it the audio driver can't be found by the Ulead program or the path of the Audio Codec Driver is not defined? I have installed serveral audio codecs that the video needed to encode (using GSpot to check). Yet up to no avail...

Any experienced helpers? Thanxs in advance~!!

    Attached is the Error Msg.

    Sorry about that...

OK, i just need anyone who's familiar about Ulead Video Studio 8 as a program to convert avi format to mpeg1 or 2.

I can do this without any problem but sometimes i will get the error msg like "Audio Codec Driver Not Found". So i will like to know how to solve this problem... I have checked the video files using "GSpot" to confirm the codecs that my PC have. But this problem still exist.

Tried TMPEnc but when output of the file doesn't have any sound.

So any Ulead users out there to help?

So what codec DID GSpot said your problematic AVI uses? Or do we have to drag it out of you?

Thanks anyway if you are not a Ulead user~!!

  6. This is not Ulead problem. This is a problem with codec that is not installed in your system.

So you encountered this problem before? The "Audio Codec Driver Not Found" is about the driver of audio codecs or just the codecs itself? As the sentence has the word "Driver" not just codecs.

Again, what does g-spot say ?

You ask for help, you won't give details, then you get rude and pissy at the people who are trying to help.

No,I didn't. Audio codecs which I need are properly installed.
Tried TMPEnc but when output of the file doesn't have any sound.
This point very clear to unproper audio. Either ac3 or VBR mp3.

A google for "Audio Codec Driver" brings up a huge list, most of which are associated with drivers for sound cards. Have you installed the latest drivers for your sound card ?

ok... i'm not trying to sound rude or what. I'm just trying to find users who use Ulead with similiar problem.

Sorry if i sounded angry or wherever indicated.

I will check 1 more time to make sure everything then post the msg again. As i'm now not at home.

So reply to 'Abond': (2nd Qns) So this problem with TMPGEnc lies with the video file itself with the unproper audio that the program doesn't recognised?

  12. Yes. To say it exactly it is an audio that the program doesn't handle. The same is with Ulead.

So that's to say the video file that has this problem can't be converted to another format? Then i think i have wasted enough time on that video...

ok, after rendering the results from 'GSpot', i get this:

"DirectShow claims to be able to play the file. The following combinations of filters were used:

    AVI Splitter (Splitter)

    DivX Decoder Filter (Video Decoder)
ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder (Video Post-processor)
    Video Renderer (Video Renderer)

    AC3Filter (Audio Decoder)
    Morgan Stream Switcher (Audio Post-processor)
    Default DirectSound Device (Audio Renderer)"

  15. Well, Download and install AC3 ACM Decopressor. Then try again.
If your aim is DVD, better separate the ac3 audio, convert only video and author the dvd with the converted video and original audio.
    Ac3Filter is only directshow filter.

    Ok... I got it solved...

Sorry for all the troubles that i gave as i didn't state the details carefully...
I missed out the lastest audio codec that i got from 'free-codecs.com', its the lastest AC3 Filter (maybe the AC3 Filter i got wasn't updated enough).

So after all this i need to be more careful regarding audio codecs... Thanxs for all the answers, guys~!!

Still you guys to solve harder problems next time (who knows?!)... So i will give enough details til then~

If you had posted the GSpot results when we asked you to you would have received the same answer about 6 hours faster...

Ok, got another qns to ask...

Now i can convert the avi to mpeg format but the output file doesn't have any audio. Is it because of the same problem again (Audio Codecs)?

I tried using Gspot for it, it return valid for the codecs that installed in my com. OK, i'm using Ulead VS 8 as usual. As i need the editing stuffs that the software have (maybe too used to it already as i have been using it for some months ago).

So any advice? Thanxs for any help~!!

Most editing software can't load AC3 and edit it. Use virtualdub to demux the ac3 audio to a .ac3 file. Create you mpeg video as an elementary video stream. Use your authoring software to bring the two back together.

If VS8 produces the final DVD (I don't use it, so I don't know if it authors or not) then you may not be able to do this. That would leave you with two choices - author in something else, or convert the AC3 to stereo wav format, and load that into VS8

    Thanxs for replying~

Will try out the Virtualdub but will it take too big of a file size as my video file is about 4hrs long and its 3+ GB.

What editing software do you use for your own converting of video files? VS8 can view the video while converting, the video i have crop out a portion to convert it but it takes around 15 to 20 mins to convert a 2 mins video file. Its an .AVI file. I'm i missing some video codecs that it required to do the job?

Just a side qns... when i opening a video in VS8 the program prompts me that the video file is not in correct format, so does this also involves in the video codecs?
