I want to capture the video effect that happens when I scrub through my footage in Premiere.
I know I can simply connect my DV camera as the capture device and simply record the output - but here's the rub: my DV camera is an older consumer model, and lately, it's been showing some glitchy errors when recording and playback. I want to capture a clean signal, and I'm afraid the camera will record too much digital noise to be of any use.
What I'd like to do is either setup some kind of "virtual" DV capture device (similar to the virtual MIDI devices like the loopback) :: OR :: link my two computers together via firewire, having one act as the DV capture device.
Are any of these two options feasible, and how would I go about that? Is there another way to do this that I'm not thinking of?
Thanks!

The second option should work, but have you tried the DV cam? Use several takes if necessary.
For option 2 just use WinDV for recording on the second machine. Then import the file.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
