    How good should the sound sound on an SVCD compared to a DVD? I'm doing it at 44100 and 224 in TMPGEnc, with Normalization on in DVD2AVI to increase the volume.

    depends on the source. most dvds have better and worse quality sound tracks for dvd2avi to extract. try to extract the track as close to 448 kps (indicated by dvd2avi) as possible.
