I bought a Sima GoDVD! CT-200 at eBay, but there was no S-Video cable or Power adapter included so I used my own Power adapter. I don't think the SCART/AV output of my VCR is S-Video compatible because I have to use a scart-to-s-video cable which transforms the black & white picture to color. Otherwise it's B&W even if I don't use the GoDVD!-device. If I use the GoDVD!-device the color is black & white no matter which mode (out of 6 modes) I set it in. And it doesn't matter if I have it in NTSC or PAL mode. It's still black and white. I use S-Video input and output so the led is orange.
