Avoid using Nero, download TMPGenc (see tools section) and refer to the following guide:-http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm
Also download Virtualdub so that you can check what type of format each file is in.. Some of them are almost bound to be Divx, so once again you may need codecs (see tools section) to view them on your respective media player

Many thanks Bilbo-god i will check those programs out.
You say avoid using Nero though (running 5.5 not 5.0) is there any reason for not using it? if its not much good what do you recomend for burning, as movies all run fine on my computer i just want them to watch on my telly. -
I'm surprised to hear that recommendation about Nero. Many of us here at VCDhelp prefer NEro to any other burning program on the market. But, try a few and see what you like better.....

Nothing worng with using Nero for burning (sorry for any confusion), I use it all the time. I was thinking more along the lines of its use in conversions... It doesn't seem too poular for this with other people on the forum

Ah yes, for conversions it sucks a large warty trolls ass (can you tell I've just seen Lord of the Rings?
But for burning I think it's tops.
