freeze during editing

i captured video with an advent usb box. i then took the mpeg to
ulead moviefactory, also tried sonic my dvd, and windows movie maker.

all the mpeg i had freeze in those programs. they used to work.

i can still view the mpeg in windows player or the program capwiz that came with advent. but i can't edit.

i have windows pro, 3.o processor, and 1000 mgs memory.

can anyone help.

Is the video on the HD of your pc or is it still in the advent box? You should have the video on your pc HD. Also, make sure you have enough free space on your drive.
