The LOTR Extended Edition (as well as many other DVDs) contains DTS-ES Discrete audio track which is true 6.1 surround.

I am using PowerDVD 6 Deluxe and cannot get to enable 6.1 setup. Whenever I select 7 Speaker setup, (which is 6.1), I cannot hear sound from the rear centre speaker. The only way to hear sound is to upmix using some feature in PowerDVD, which is pointless as DTS-ES Discrete is true 6.1.

How can I enable true 6.1 output. My speakers are set to 6.1 setup in control panel and under creative settings, all 6 speakers have been tested working. PowerDVD is set on 7 speaker setup. My speakers are connected using analog output as 6.1 is only supported through analog and not digital.

    Thanks.

Soundcard: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum (6.1 Soundcard)
Speakers: Cambridge Soundworks Megaworks 650D (6.1 Speakers)

Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum ZS does support DTS-EX d. , but the old Audigy 2 had some issues with it ...

The ZS version processes DTS-ES discrete through its hardware decoder. Unfortunately, the Audigy 2 (non ZS) does not include a decoder for DTS tracks, only DD and DD EX. Which is why im left with software alternatives. Ive tried WinDVD as well and find the same problem.

Are there any other software players out there that can decode DTS-ES, preferably a filter if possible.

I don't know, but I did want to suggest that you might want to try the forums at http://www.doom9.net since we seem out of ideas here. I'll warn you that while Doom9 does have a lot of really smart people on the forums, they are not always in a helpful mood, so your post may go ignored there too, but it doesn't hurt to try. The great thing about this forum is that almost everything will be answered if someone knows the answer. Although the suggestions didn't fix your problem, at least some people here tried to help you. You may or may not get any response at Doom9.
