  1. I am trying to use Tmpgenc Express to encode an AVI Xvid video file to an MPG VCD format. As soon as I start the encoding process I get a "Divided by 0" error message and the encoding stops. I have done a search here and on Afterdawn and have not found any clues on what could be wrong. Anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance for any help.

This is probably not much help, but that is a general Windows error. Likely to do with TMPGEnc Express, but it can be caused by other things, including faults in the OS or programs running in the background.

    This site has some information:

My first guess is there is a problem with the Xvid file. Does it happen with other Xvids? Have you checked that Xvid with a program like VirtualDub to look for errors? How about AC3 audio or MP3 VBR audio? Those both can cause TMPGEnc to choke. VD will tell you right away about MP3 VBR audio.

You can also use Gspot to check the audio format.

  3. Thanks for the response. I did check the file with Gspot and Video Inspector and the file looks fine and it indicates the codecs are installed. I also am able to encode the file with the Tmpgenc free version, just not with Express. So, I am able to get the file encoded, but it is just driving me crazy that I cannot figure out why I get this error with Express.
