    I cannot open an .avi file in Tsunami Mpeg Encoder (TmpgEnc). I have no problem playing the file itself but it won't open in the program for some reason. All my codecs are up to date as far as I know. It's an S-Mpg4 avi. Is there a way to open it, or is there another program (preferably free) that I can use to convert it to a VCD friendly Mpg?

    have you tried change the directshow priority ?
