Win XP Pro w/SP2-Athlon64 3200-1G Ram.

Trying to capture with Ulead VS 9 or Windows MM, both have the same result, a black preview screen.

The video IS captured and I can view it in Win Media Player but it makes things kinda tuff to edit when the preview screen is black. I a newbe so I don't know where to start, any suggestions? Thanks.

Goi to start>run and type dxdiag. From there you can see id it's a direct X problem.

Probably an overlay setting in the graphics card settings. Check there.

I ran dxdiag and didn't see any problems and I checked the overlay settings for my graphics card and didn't change anything there. As a last resort I rebooted and now everything is fine. Thanks

I always thought a reboot was the first resort, not the last!
