I used tytools to take some shows off my TiVO and to DVD. The problem is there are 4 eps and the problem is the dvd structure is 5.44gigs. I tried using DVD shrink to get it to fit on 1 DVD but I keep getting an error "Out Of Memory"

I have 768mb of ram so I dont thin this error is correct.

Has anyone ran into this before????

I too rip Tivo MPEGs and process them. I have found that not every Tivo file is "perfect". I have had many headachs trying to clip commercials, and keep A/V sync. Ive used TMPGEnc MPEG Editor with limited success. I have started using VideoReDo and I *swear* by it, it does fix all the stream errors, if there are any, and outputs a perfect file.

Even if you dont clip segments, it can fix the errors! Just open and Save As.

Back to TyTools... I dont think the VOB output is exatly everything it was cut out to be. Knowing that the streams sometimes have errors, then I would assume that its possible that the VOBs could also have errors. Im not even sure if TyTools outputs a "standard" VOB.

Its a lot longer way around, but this sequence works best for Tivo to DVD:

VideoReDo -> scan and fix Tivo MPEG2 file
DVD2AVI -> outputs a DVD2AVI VFAPI file, and seperates MPA audio
TMPGEnc -> Open the VFAPI file for video, and the MPA for audio; encode with DVD template

Ive tried all 3 formats, MPEG - VOB - DeMux. Of them all, MPEG is the most reliable stream, and the best format to process from.

    Good luck,
    Andrew
I have been into computers since 1980. Ive been tinkering with DV in one flavor or another since 1990.
