  1. Have searched but can find no mention of this

I Have the above capture device and want to capture in Vdub but when going to the capture option get error vdub cannot connect to the capture device

It works fine with the included capture software so is not a problem with any hardware or connection.

Was wondering if anyone had used the above combination and any tips to get it working

    Anyy help appreciated
    Thanks

  2. I think you Can only use the Software that came with the card.

But if you can use other Software,I would think it would only work with MPG Capture Software, That would use the Hardware Encoder on that Card..

    Vdub Captures AVI.

PS: I can Be totally Wrong..

Seems like I have read (but I don't have any actual experience) that Vdub will only work with internal capture cards, not external capture devices.

  4. Thanks for the answers guys

It seems after further reading it will not be possible from what i can make out it seems to be an issue with the VFW or WDM drivers within the OS although I can't find the definitive answer.

although the new version of included capture software will save to divx/ mp4 apparantly but can't get that to work either, more research i think

I did my first capture from VHS and the quality is really better than i expected so should be grateful i have a hardware MPEG encoder the audio has a bit of a hiss though....

Can anybody reccomend any software to remove the hiss and genearally clean up the audio?

The Ads device you have caps to MPEG, encoding is hardware and pretty much just streams the program to USB then is saved on the hard drive. VDub cant control your device.

You shouldnt have a hiss, dont know what to tell you on that except try a different audio setting or different VCR or different cables.

    Good luck,
    Andrew
