hey guys even though i am not using component video cables i see that when enabling the progressive scan option on my CH-DVR 1200.
the picture quality takes a noticable increase in picture quality the overall image quality is sharper and smoother than with the option set to off..
i got a question regarding that. can a dvd recorder record with the progressive scan enabled or is that just for video out only??
the reason why i ask is because i have noticed when playing back the dvd+rw on a standard dvd player the improvement is very evident....
i am pretty sure someone knows the answer to my question if it helps i am recording from digital cables toon disney channel..

Cannot record in progressive.
Doesn't work that way.
That is for playback only and even then should only be used when you have a progressive DVD as a source.
Any recordings you make would be interlaced.
