I have a couple mpg2 files, one around 2GB and the other around 7GB that I would like to convert to .vob files. What is a good program to use to accomplish this? I want to burn them onto a DVD. I have Nero and when I select 'Create DVD' it asks for DVD files and looks for .vob files.
I have DVD Shrink installed and it looks for the same types of files as well.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

TMPGEnc DVD Author is very good for making DVD Video Files.Your MPEG2 files are too large to fit on a single or double layer DVD+\-R though. You will need DVDShrink to transcode the files.

So by authoring them, that will convert them to .vob files?

Yes TDA will convert to VOBs. Any MPEG-2 files that you author have to be DVD compliant, both in video and audio. You might look to the left under 'What is' DVD to see the DVD format that is created during authoring and what specs are used. <<<<<<<<<

  5. If you look up Author programs you will find plenty to choose from although some only work with AVI files.

    DVDStyler (free) should work.
As mention, TDA is very good.

I've downloaded TDA and have tried to get the file input, but I get the error message (*The video sequence header is incorrect. The video sequence header is incorrect. A video sequence header is necessary for every GOP in a standard DVD.)
I need this corrected before I can go any further but couldn't find any help on it.
    Thanks

There's a guide in the guides section written by vitualis called "Inserting sequence headers with TMPGEnc" or something similar. It's written for VCD< but all you gotta do is make sure that the system stream type says "MPEG-2 Program (VBR)" instead and it should work.

    Either that or MPEG-VCR has a GOP-fixer.
    If in doubt, Google it.
