  1. Ok well i've been doing vcd's and everything for awhile and they all worked and they work well being put into dvd author program now and putting more of them on dvd instead of cd with my new burner but have a question.

Everything works fine but when i do like divx/xvid to VCD with tmpgenc is there anyways to make it not use 44000hz audio and do 48 anyways since when you author it to dvd later it then converts it again to 48.

Seems kinda useless going 48>44>48 and i'm sure it adds extra time onto tmpgenc dvd author to convert the audio before it's able to be burned.

When first loading up my divx or xvid and going to the audio tab there is a place where i can change it to stereo but all the other options are greyed out .

VCD spec is 44100Hz and DVD spec is 48000Hz sample rate. Not much you can do about that. Xvid or Divx is whatever someone wants it to be. I've got some that are 22050Hz, 24000Hz, mostly MP3, but there are other formats. It really doesn't take that long to change the sample rate if you don't have to convert the format.

You can unlock the template. Click Load and in the extra folder, and select unlock.mcf. Click Setting and select the Audio tab. In the Sampling Frequency, click the drag-down button and select 48000.

It seems like you might be doing more work then you need to.

Is your final destination dvd? If so then convert the mpeg4 avi directly to the mpeg2 standard the first time. Then it will be fully compatible in TDA with no need to reconvert it.

Or if you want to make a vcd AND a dvd from the same source why not make the vcd first and load that into tda? TDA will convert just the audio and leave the vcd video alone - its actually pretty quick or is at least for me.

EDIT - also the 44.1 khz IS the vcd standard no way around it if you want the vcd to work (on standalone players that is - pc's will play just about anything)
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
