  1. Using Nero 6 Burning ROM, how important is it to tick

    "Verify Written Data" to run after its burned a DVD?

    Does it correct any errors?

    Or does it simply inform you, of somthing you'll eventually learn anyway?

    Personally I always verify the data. No it doesn't correct the errors, but I would rather find out about any discrepancies there and then not when I actually need to use the back-up/data

  3. I turned off the verification after I found it wasn't very efficient. I did this as a standard and found a couple that verified okay but were actually no good. My assumption is that the verification is only a cursory check.

    Nero provide another tool in their 'Nero Toolkit' folder called CD Speed which has a 'scandisk' option that works in two modes. It'll do a file read check and a disk surface scan. If I want to be sure a disk is perfect before I wipe the source, I run both these tests.

    Hasn't let me down yet.
