Got an avi file and after I encoded it with tmpgenc the audio and video don't match up. There is a half second difference in running time, but audio is out of sync about 2 seconds the whole way through (slow). GSpot says:
    Video: Divx3 Low Motion (div3) 620kb/s 25 fps
    Audio: MPEG-1 Layer 3 128kb/s (64/channel, stereo)CBR 48000Hz
    Video runtime: 2:08:31.040
    Audio runtime: 2:08:30:840
I have used Canapus and CCE to reencode video with same result and for audio i have demuxed with VDub Mod, and Goldwave in MP3, AC-3, MP2 and WAV (uncompressed) with the assistance of ffmpeg. I tried to use golden wave's "time warp" to stretch the audio but it makes it worse. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I haven't used goldwave in over a year, but I believe that you can insert a fixed interval, (like 2 seconds) of silence at beginning of audio. Or you can trim a second or two from beginning of video. Also some authoring programs like dvd-lab have tools to adjust audio delay.

Hypercube Time Stretcher and SyncView are two programs that say they can fix sync problems fairly easy. Haven't tried either one, though.

VirtualDub also has an 'Audio Skew' correction, though it's mostly trial and error. It's under Audio>Interleaving.

  6. VideoRedo is only for when you have converted to mpg with tmpgenc, though.
