  1. I have about 20 video clips totalling 1hr 20min. I've decompressed the audio and video files and need to create a 700mb avi video from the project. I have done so successfully using the DivX codec. However i generally prefer the clarity of the Xvid codec.

    However no matter how i alter the settings i can't seem to get to file to fill a 700mb CD. The inbuilt calculator always seems to come up with a 680mb file no matter how i alter the setting. I guess this is not really that important however i do feel that there is room to use a slightly higher bitrate and therefor a slighly better quality file.

    Can anyone advise me on how to alter the setting to get the correct size. Thanks.

    My setting in case it helps

    PAL (25 fps)
    Overlay track(s):3
    Microsoft AVI files
    24 Bits, 640 x 480, 25 fps
    Frame-based
    XviD MPEG-4 Codec
    Interleave audio for every 1 frames
    MPEG Layer-3, 128 kBit/s, 48,000 Hz, Stereo


    The XviD Configuration is

    Encoding Type: Two Pass
    Profile @Level AS@L5
    Target Size 716800
    Motion Search Precision 6-Ultra High
    VHQ mode: 1- Mode Decision
    Frame Drop Ration: 0
    Maximum I-frame interval 250 (I have also tried 300)
