Hi,
I read the newbie guide for getting an mpeg on one disk but I am having problems!
I have already converted this movie from an .avi to mpeg using TMPGEnc 3 express. (TMPGEnc 2.5 didn't recognize the audio.) I lowered the bitrate to around 800 I think.
The resulting mpg file size in now only 698MB but Nero won't let me burn it. It says it isn't in the right format and will have to re-encode which will make it is too big (824MB)
I am now using TMPGEnc 2.5 to try and reduce my mpg to fit on one 80min disk. I have a template saved for VCD on one Disk, when I load the template through the wizard and get to point where it should let me resize the video it the bitrate jumps up to 2000 and won't move down any. I can't even use the slider to reduce bitrate or use the settings.
Can anyone help me to get this thing onto one disk please. I'm useless!

In Nero, when you open it and select VideoCD, you see the box that says "create standard compliant cd" ? Uncheck it. Then it should allow you to load your 698 mg movie without reencoding.

In tmpgenc, you really shouldn't use the wizard, but if you insist....
Load it as you normally do, get to the last screen and uncheck the box that says to start encode automatically (you don't want to do this). Once you're back to the main screen hit the load button> extra folder> unlock template. Then go into settings and change the biterate to whatever you want. Then hit start. -
http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/TMPGEnc1CD.htm might help.
You might also want to look at VCDEasy, which is highly regarded in the VCD Authoring stakes.
EDIT:
Fixed linkIf in doubt, Google it. -
Link is dead. You mean this: http://members.dodo.com.au/~jimmalenko/TMPGEnc1CD.htm
