My ND3500 just started crapping out when I try to burn RW media it makes a clicking sound and then renders the disk unreadable. It still burns DVD+R no problems. Is my drive worn out. I think I probably burned about 500+ discs with it. Maybe time for a new one. Can anyone suggest where to buy a new one.. I bought mine at bananapc.com it currently $46.

Sounds like time for an upgrade. The 3500 is long gone and the only NEC close in quality is the 3520; it is also hard to find. If you want an easy to find low cost alternative get the Liteon 1693. I find the burn quality is very close to my NECs. Make sure you flash to the KS0B firmware.

It seems to still have problems with firmware and I would avoid it. Both my 3500 and 3520 seem to burn much better.
