Are you asking about region coding, playing on a computer or playing on any DVD player?Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

A computer doesn't give a sh*t about TV systems, so, yes. It can be done. With any DVD authoring app. But, for pure computer playback, I see no advantage in reencoding the AVI to DVD...

Yep true on a computer, false on a DVD player* without envolved standards conversion unless your system is multi-system.
*Most PAL DVD players will play a NTSC DVD using various cheats and mirrors. Most NTSC DVD players will not play PAL encoded DVD.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
