try extracting the audio w/o normalization or down sampling and see if you get the same problem

I am not an expert, in fact I am not sure I fully understand the question... But I have had trouble with larger movies (Green Mile, The Last Emperor ...etc.)
I have had to figure out how many VCD or SVCD I will be making for the movie and divide the dvd2avi converting.
For some odd reason when I go try to convert a large movie all in one lump sum.. the audio file is too large.
So what I do is I convert with dvd2avi in 2 seperate folders using the same vobs. (Usually the first third of a long movie, and then the remainder...which can be cut in 2 later)
If Magnolia is a big movie... I bet your problem lies in the size of the audio file (I think win media and TMPGEnc have limits on audio size)
Does this help or did I just waste your time?? hehe
