    Have three quick questions.

    1. Want to convert avi to dvd. Is it alright if I choose mpeg2 as the output file format? I'd choose dvd but in this encoder, choosing dvd as the output format doesn't allow me to use the 3:2 pulldown option. Can use 3:2 with mpeg2 though.

    2. For some reason, after I encode with mpeg2 as the output file format, the final output file size is 1.92gb. But the estimated final output file size determined by the encoder is 4.2gb. Why isn't the output file size 4.2gb?!

    3. Does it matter if the final output file size is, for example, 2gb or 4gb when it comes to video quality?

    Can't be sure, but selecting DVD for output probably puts pulldown in automatically.

    What are your encoding settings ? CBR or VBR ? One pass or two ? Bitrate ? Details man, details !

    If the bitrate is too low, the quality will suffer. Size is determined by bitrate x running time. What is the bitrate and what is the length ?

    Your questions are the equivilent of asking a mechanic "my vehicles makes a noise, is this right ?". He will want to know what type of vehicle, what type of noise. If you wan't detailed and corect answers, you have to ask detailed and correct questions.

    I checked the pulldown when selecting DVD for output. It just says, 'Pulldown = none'

    using VBR, 2 pass, bitrate:
    max kbps = 8000
    ave kbps = 6102
    min kbps = 2500
