  1. Hi

I have lots of short clips I have encoded into .m2v & .wav to author using TMPGenc, eventually ending up with loads of clips I can put onto a DVD.

The thing is, when I author each separate clip, surely I will get the same ifo / vob filenames? Will just dragging & dropping these using Nero cause a problem, and will I keep getting "overwrite same file name" problems?

How do I author the 20 or so clips to go onto one dvd, without joining them, and have each clip as a new chapter?

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    Ian

No need to 'author' each clip. Use TDA. Add 1st file with separate video and audio if that's how you have them and then just 'add new track' for 2nd file and so on. Create menu relative for the no. of tracks/files you've added and when outputted, it will create just the one TS folder for burning.

  3. Ok, so if I understand you correctly, if I open up TDA, I start new project & keep adding the differently named m2v & wav files into a "list" until it tells me the DVD is full up?

I'd actually add them to the same track since

This way they'll play as one continuous feature if you just let it play, and a chapter stop will be created at the beginning of each new file.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Disagree with jimmalenko as to creating one large file. I would add them separately and then create a 'Loop' within TDA if you want continuous playback of all tracks. The benefit of that is that you have all tracks as thumbnails and you can select tracks at will as opposed to going through and selecting different chapter points for the song you want to play.

The good thing about the forum is that you may get differing views and you go with the one which is best for you and NOT me!!!! You now have 2 options, 1 from me and 1 from Jimmalenko-try it out and go with what suits you!!

You can always just have a track menu, with thumbnails of each chapter. Same thing, No ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Agreed it is. I think i pretty much steered him in right direction at beginning of thread. I only differed from your previous comment when you mentioned 'Continuous' playback that's all. Just thought it more convenient if tracks were 'looped'. Then again, he never asked that in the beginning, so i think we may both have digressed slightly. Based on what we've posted, I think he's cracked it anyway which is great. What the hell, thank **** it's friday!!!! Enjoy the weekend.
