i've been trying different authoring programs on the same m2v/ac3 files that i encoded with tmpgenc 2.5 plus (converted mp2 to ac3 with besweet). i have a slow, jumpy video in the preview window while trying to set chapter points. running windows xp pro sp2, p4 3.2 64bit, 1 gig dual-channel pc3200, ati x600pro vid card, 300gb sata hd. i have not had this problem with any other authoring programs, including mf 2, nve 3, dlp, and encore. i've already uninstalled and re-installed dvdws2 with no change. any suggestions would be appreciated.

The AC3 is the culprit. BESWEET-encoded AC3 files will author fine, but because they are not truly 100% to-spec AC3, it will make DVDWS2 choke a bit while trying to play them with a certified decoder.
