I transcribed burned in subs from one file and wanted to sync them up to another. I encoded the AVI for synching with keyframes every five frames. When I open it in Subtitle Workshop, it starts out fine but when I try to skip to the first line of dialogue, either while the file is playing or stopped, it skips to the right point in the video but audio is silent for several seconds and then it starts but is out of sync with the video. When I try to skip to other points, the program crashes.
The file was encoded with DIVX. I've done this before without any problems but I don't know what has changed. Subtitle Workshop is using VirtualDub as its external player but switching it does not seem to change things.

well re convert it in srt with time adjuster just to be sure (A->B convert) or maybe try ssa/sub, work on it with workshop and save it as srt. There also is a Repair function on this prog, you might try it
