    I need lots of help.

I have obtained a Movie in avi. format and I am trying to burn it on my DVD-r.

I have tried to convert it to dvd using nero but I don't know how to add in subtitles.

I have the subtitle format in smil but I think i changed it properly to srt with subtitle workshop.

I hope that someone could plz plz plz help me.

Oh, and if possible, can you try to provide me with the name of tools that doesnt have like trial version integrated to the video.

Basically im hoping that someone would give me a really simple guide on how to make a dvd with Menu and subtitiles starting out with only a AVI clip and SMIL/SRT subtitle.

    thank you

btw, ive tried reading the guides but i couldnt do it. too complex

I don't know of any guides, but simply free tools to look at include

Virtualdubmod to manipulate the avi (resize to spec, sharpen, overlay subtitles if you wan't them burned in)

Quenc or HCEnc to encode the output from virtualdubmod to mpeg2. Note : if these don't take frameserving from virtualdubmod you may have to look into avisynth or save as an avi before encoding to mpeg2.

    GUIforDVDAuthor or DVDAuthorGUI to author

A cheap all in one would be VSO's DivxtoDVD2, which is the commercial version of their DivxtoDVD authoring system. It does not yet produce menus, but it is fast, simple, and the commercial version cam do subtitles for you as well.

It is complex. That's why there are guides. You learn one part at a time. Study 'subtitles' first. The encoding is a little more simple. You can use freeware tools for all of it, but it takes time and effort to learn.

Maybe i was being to greedy.

I figured out how to convert avi to dvd.

I've tried using divx-dvd and add subtitiles but i think i saw on the preview it has the letter trial version.

Could someone tell me of a program where i can integrate subtitle with avi without the problem of having a trial letter? No need for menu

Btw, if someone actually owns a copy of divx-dvd plz pm me.
