Almost all of my tv shows, movies, etc. that I downloaded are in XviD, and with Gspot, it always says they are always at least 1600kbps or more. I heard somewhere that the DVP642 had trouble playing high bitrate files, so is this true, and if it is, what other dvd player would you suggest? Using the Xbox is also a great idea, but I REALLY don't understand anything at all about that right now, so any help about that topic would be greatly appreciated as well. A note: I had the DVP642 for 2 days, and there was flickering on the bottom half of the screen every 2 minutes or so..... picture quality however was AWESOME, a LOT better than my computer, then again its hard to see the full picture because the DVP642 automatically cuts off a couple lines of resolution...

No, your TV cut of part of the picture. The DVP642 outputs exactly what it's supposed to. Televisions overscan because there's often junk at the edges of the picture, because they have linearity and centering problems, etc.

I'm pretty sure the DVP642 is good up to about 4000 kbps or so.
