    hi
i have an avi file that im trying to add subtitles to, and to convert to dvd.
first, i installed vobsub, then i used ffdshow to add the srt file to the avi, done, subtitles showed fine on wmp and wmp classic, then i opened up winavi and did a conversion of the avi file to dvd, done, but when i burned the files with clonedvd (the vob, vts files) it burned fine, but when i played it in my philips dvd player, some of the subtitles didnt show, and then after i got to chapter 30, it froze and didnt work anymore.
so now, im a little stumped, isnt there another method of doing exactly what i did with avi but with another program? i like winavi because it doesnt take long to encode. other programs take a bit longer, im looking for a program that
    1. keeps the original movie quality
    2. can add subtitles
    3. can turn the avi to a dvd with vob files and all for burning
i tried avi2dvd but its a bit complicated since im not that experienced
    any suggestions is appreciated.

Try latest divxtodvd. It supports srt subtitles and it's very fast.
