  1. I did a search on the popular download sites and came up with about 233 results. I am looking for an app that will take text and convert it to an audio mp3 file. There are several out there, any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

No one app will do this (that I know of).

The process you want is this:

    1. Text-to-speech playback
    2. Record live with Audio recording app via Windows wave driver (there are a number of guides on how to do this). Save as 16bit, 44100Hz, Mono WAV.
    3. Use a high quality MP3 encoder (like Lame) to make an mp3. Make it mono to save on bitrate (T-T-S is gonna be mono anyway).

Google search to fill in the blanks for tools. That should do it!

    Cool!

    I stand corrected.

This will create a .wav file. Use your favorite mp3 encoder to do the rest.
