  1. I have been trying to use goldwave 5.9 to convert a wave file to an mp3 file but I keep getting the error that there is no codec installed for it eventhough I have a copy of Lame_enc.dll in the goldwave folder? I can open mp3's with no problem.

  4. I put a copy in the windows\system32 directory and reboot but that didn't help.

  5. Probably a stretch, but a couple of years ago I had a similar problem with lame_enc.dll and traced it to the compiled version I was using - found another version and everything worked fine.

You could check the Hydrogenaudio Forums and find different compiles.
