yes, an easy way is wmvmuxer, but you can only do 1 at a time (no batching capability)

another option is wmnicenc, but it only accepts avisynth input, so you have to know some basic scripting

super may also be able to do it (not sure)

CDex can batch encode but remember the quality will suffer,it's better to encode from uncompressed sources.

I was looking for something to convert my mp3s to wmas so that they can be smaller and allow me to put more on my mp4 player since it also plays wma files.

compression is similar between mp3, and wma9 .

All you are doing is losing quality by re-encoding. So you can choose a lower bitrate if you want it smaller, but it will definitely sound worse

So what you are saying is that my best bet is to get a sd card to expand the size of my player instead of converting to smaller files although when I rip using wma from my cds they are smaller than the mp3s with the same bitrate with windows media player?

Yes I would get more storage space

If they are the same bitrate, they are the same filesize (filesize = bitrate x running time)

If both are 128kb/s for example, they should be the same size (slightly different from overhead in the container). They should sound similar between wma9 and mp3.

AAC is better, you could probably use 100kb/s and have it sound the same as 128kb/s mp3 or wma9 on most sources

Also is there a way to drop the bitrate so that the files are smaller mine are around 192kb/s and maybe if i drop it down to 128 i can save space?

you can't just drop it, you have to re-encode it at that bitrate

start with the original cd, not the lossy mp3, because everytime you re-encode using a lossy format the quality decreases irreversibly
