I have a DiVX avi file I need to convert to m2v/mp2 files for use in DVDlab - but I have a problem with extracting the audio.
The file had some corrupted frames (about 20 seconds worth), so I cut them out using VirtualDub. I ended up with a new file that had no corrupted frames. So far, so good - the file plays perfectly, with no corrupted frames, and the audio is in sync all the way through.
I ran it through TMGgenc to convert it into seperate m2v/mp2 files, but the resulting files were a diferent length - the audio file ends up being 15 seconds or so shorter than the video file. It's not a gradual change - the audio is in sync for the first third of the movie, then suddenly goes way out of sync for the rest of the movie.
I've also tried extracting the audio using VirtualDub, then converting to mp2 with BeSweet - but the result is the same. It's still 15 seconds or so shorter than it should be.
Has anyone got any ideas on my next move?

Get an error free avi. IMO, fixing broken AVIs to make them convertable, is rarely (extremely! - never found one that is) worth the trouble, if you don't have unlimited amount of time on your hands, and are very patient. Possibly if I was doing a life time sentence...

I think the problem is, you didn't cut the clip exactly. the final movie file contain about 15 seconds unuseful audio data, in fact, movie player will just skip it according the pts of audio & video when playing it.
to fix the problem, you should find a better tool to cut the clip or add a delay when you authoring the m2v and mp2 files.
