    Hi

I'm capturing DV through ADVC on to Premiere Pro 1.5.

Near the end of the miniDV tape for about 4 seconds the frames are corrupted with lots of blocky 'rainbow' coloured squares.

I would work around the distortion, BUT these particular frames are very important (just a brief moment of someone who is no longer here).

When the blocks appear - they come with a lot of scratchy 'noise'.

Is there anything out there that could fix this problem.

I am new to this, but I was thinking if it was a .jpg I'd fix it
    "pixel by pixel" with Photoshop.

Is it possible to fix each frame in this way, on video?

If so, any pointers on how?

    Many thanks in advance.

  2. Hi DP,

You can export the section from Premier as a "Filmstrip" (title.flm).

You can then import into PS and treat it as a .jpeg. You then export as a filmstrip back into Premier.

When you export you only get the image not the audio, so you'll need another piece of software for that.

First the ADVC is just a switch for a DV source so should be irrelevant.

In the last 4 seconds on a 1 hr tape, the DV camcoder is in shutdown and you can't expect smooth data. This will be tough.

I hope LabanB's approach works for you.
