I have a Sony Handycam DCR DVD203. I took stills and video in August 2005 on a FujiFilm DVD-R. Recently I tried to view the video in Windows Media Player. The first and second files played fine. The third file started, but then began to get "pixelly" (like a bad TV satellite feed) and eventually froze. Other files on this disc are the same and some won't open.

The stills seem to be in the same boat. In My Computer, the thumbnails appear only for the first 10 (of about 35) pictures. The disc face looks clean.

    Any ideas on a fix?

    THANKS!

The disc might be bad, or the drive you're using may not be very good. The drive is actually more likely than the disc, in this case. Try another. Then again, it could be a mix of not-good readability off the disc AND not-good reading ability of the drive.
