  1. Hey guys I have a bunch of movies of various file types and I would like to extract the audio from each of them and encode it to mp3 in one step. Is there a freeware program that can handle this with ease?

    Thanks for the quick reccomendation

    You're right,I assumed from a DVD.
Virtualdub and TMPGEnc can do this with the MP3 codec(lame.exe) if the audio is MP2,if the audio is AC3 use AC3Tool.

mplayer can decode just about everything (avi, mov, mp4, mkv, ogm, ogg, etc.) to wav, then just use lame to convert to mp3. Both are free. Also shouldn't be a problem to pipe from mplayer to lame to avoid creating a temporary wav.

  5. Thanks guys. None are AC3 and I forgot about TMPG. I think TMPG will be perfect for me.
