Converting PAL to NTSC

Hello Chris,
Love your program, I am a registered user and have been using for a long time. I have v2.0 RC9b. This is the first time I have tried to convert PAL to NTSC.
I extracted mpg from bin, added mpg as asset and in settings, checked the convert to NTSC. I also checked the use pulldown and apply pan & scan (since the standalone is a Pioneer).
Now I'm kinda lost. Do I author DVD or is there a step I'm missing?
The first mpg went thru a patching to SDE. I checked the SDE mpg with mpegdetails but it still shows it as a PAL format.
I also looked in the log directory, and at the bottom of the text file, the only thing that it says is;
Processing assets for DVD creation
01:15:21: Patching SDE: tun-mamstc1.mpg
Is there another log somewhere that I need to send you?
Please help on converting, I'm new to this.

Once you have converted bin to mpg, you must then load the mpg back into the assets and run Quick DVD, then it will do the conversion.

Thanks for your response guys. Yes, I did load the mpg back into the assets, but I didn't run quick DVD. I just clicked the dvd icon and told it to author without burning.
Chris, I think I checked merge titles, but I'm not sure. I am running it again with merge titles checked. If I'm supposed to. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok, I tried again with no luck. I added the assets (there are 3 mpg's) in the VTS layout. A total of 2.69gb. Checked the merge titles. Hit quick DVD. Goes thru the SDE patch on first mpg, reaches 100% and stops. I originally let this run overnight and had the same results where it stopped after the first patch. I am stumped, what am I doing wrong? I also am wanting to use my own menu on the authoring. I hope that is not the problem. Is there anything I missed on codec installation or any additional files I might need? I authored others this week, but have never done the PAL to NTSC conversion. Can you think of steps I might be missing?

ok. Only use merge titles if you need to... I will PM you with a new version to see if this can be resolved.

What program are you using to extract the bin files to mpg?

I have never had to reload the mpegs after it converted from bins as they always showed the bins as mpegs.

That is not the problem.

Thanks for the new version. It is excellent. Converted the PAL to NTSC with no problem. I really liked the new layout with the settings as an icon button. Keep up the good work and I'll always support this program whatever it takes. Also, thx for your support, it is very rare that programmers offer their support efficiently and fast.

hows it going...well as u can see im trying to convert a pal to ntsc. you cant convert a pal to a ntsc using the bin files? i am using v2.0 RC9b

Yes, you can ,after you use S2D to convert them from bins to the mpeg files. Open SVC2DVD and check the options under the Assets button to find where you can convert bin->mpegs. Once you have done the converting, you can load in the mpeg files & away you go!
