Hi! I have a group of songs by a regional band I want to put on one mp3 data cd so I can play them in my car (yes it plays mp3s). It's about 45 songs from 5 different CD's. The problem is, some of the CD's have been remastered so the volume on them is much louder than the other CD's. Is there a program that will easily normalize all 5 CD's worth of mp3s so I can play them in my car?

    Thanks in advance

GoldWave has a nice Batch Processor that does that nicely.

This is what I would do:

Rip all CDs to a folder in wav format.

Create another folder, call it mp3.

Open Goldwave and select Batch Processing. Choose the folder with the wav files. Then enter the pocesses you want it to do, like normalize, convert to mp3 ect. Choose the mp3 folder to dump the new files to. Hit go and walk away. In a few minutes you'll have a folder with mp3's all normalized and ready to burn to CD.

Drag all your MP3's to one folder and run MP3Gain.The nice thing about MP3Gain is it's reversible and lossless.

  5. If you have Nero, it has a little check box for normalization, too. It works ok...

Yes But that's for Audio CD not Data. I did try mp3 gain and it seemed to work fine. However some POS just stole my car stereo so it will be a few days till i get to check it out more.
