  1. Hello,

I have a video file that has no audio. When i load up the file in Gspot, it says the following:

Audio: ac3 (0x2000) Dolby, 448 kb's 5 ch (CBR), 48000 Hz. It says the proper codec is installed (Nero Digital Audio Encoder).

    Video: xvid, 640x272, bitrate: 1265, fps: 23.976

    Stream Type is OpenDML AVI.

My speakers are on and functioning with other audio files as well as other video files with audio.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

    Thanks in advance.
    LG

Looks like you need a decent AC3 decoder - I have used AC3 Filter for a while and it works very well.

One bit of advice though, I find that sometimes the volume is very low. You can fix this by adjusting the gain in the filters config.

    Thanks for the reply

I took your advice and downloaded this codec. It didnt seem to do anything. However, I raised the volume on my speakers too full and then the volume on my media player to full and heard volume, finally. So I am unsure if the filter actually helped. If i play anything else this way, its loud, to say the least.

Now, you metioned the low volume and I could edit it in the config filters. Except when i go into the directory for the ac3 filter, there isnt any application file that i can open the filter with (I'll assume thats where i was supposed to open it).

    Any more advice?
