Is anyone else pissed off that TV makers keep building and selling analog TV sets to US consumers, even though there not going to work anymore after the digital switchover.

Not true. They will work the same way they do today with cable or DBS. An external tuner will be required for tuning over the air DTV. Prices are expected to decline to around $50.

My old Quasar works just fine with the Wal-Mart DTV settop box I bought ... and much better picture quality than the analog signal.

  6. Bothers me not at all...cable/satellite subscribers are not affected, and I think an exception is allowed for stations not in a maor metro viewing area.

Yes. And I would say the same thing for TV tuner cards. The overwhelming majority of them are analog. What idiot buys a card or TV that's going to be obsolete so soon? I think stupid consumers may be driving the market here.
