When I got my new computer to set along side my older computer, I bought a KLM Switch so that I can share the keyboard and mouse between the computers. It has been working very well for me, but lately I am running into a problem. This has happened twice in the span of a month.
The problem is that out of the blue the monitor will be flashing between the desktop of my old computer and my new one. So fast that I can't control the computer. As soon as I am on one desktop, I am on my way back to the other desktop. I can't get the keyboard or mouse to do anything while this is happening. I have to shut the power off and boot up again then everything is back to normal. I thought this was a one time thing, but it happened last night. While this is happening the lights on KLM switch are flashing rapidly.
Has anyone else run into a problem like this before? I just bought my new computer back in January. I figure my KLM switch is covered under a warranty. My keyboard and mouse are the ones I got with my original computer, they are atleast 3 or 4 years old. Thanks in advance for any help you can be to me concerning this matter.

It sounds like the switch has gone bad. But make sure all your connections are secure. What brand is it? I have several of them, both D-Link and IOGEAR. Two use just the scroll lock and the other uses the scroll lock and the arrow keys. It's possible you might have a sticking key on the keyboard also. Try another keyboard.

redwudz: The KLM switch is a Linksys. The good thing about all this is it shouldn't cost a whole lot to get a new keyboard if that is the problem and maybe the KLM Switch would be covered by a warranty. Thank you for your advice on this issue. I hope everything keeps working into October since my computer guy is away on a trip and I entrust everything computer wise to him. It freaks me out abit though, because I worry it is going to do it while I am video capturing or something else like that, to have to shut the power off, it just screws alot of things up.
