You are kidding, aren't you? Ever heard about USB or FW TV capture devices? Look left at the capture card list.

Are you sure, that you plugged the device into an USB 2.0 port? Most LTs have 1.1 and 2.0 USB ports.

If I understand right, you are recording your video from your Xbox?

Have you tried using a VCR and recording the video from that to see if that comes out better? If you don't have a VCR, maybe borrow one and use that to test. The Xbox may be using a different resolution, framerate or the video format not be compatible with your card.

The quality of the finished video file is dependent on what you feed into it and the settings for the encoding/capture. You need a good video signal to start with before you can do these adjustments.

You should have a manual with the card. If you haven't completely read it, do so. Also do some searching on the net for your card especially if you can find a users forum for it. If you are having a problem, others have also. You might find some good tips that way.

I'd start with reading the manual that came with your capture device if I were you. "its not good quality" and "its small" sound to me like you're still using out-of-the-box settings, or some preset that is totally inappropriate for what you want to do. Tweak.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. Hey.

    Thanks for the replies.

But it doesnt really have manual... Just tells you how to install the card.

And i dont believe i have a USB 2.0 cause something on the bottom of my screen says this device can run better on 2.0 or something like that. Is their a way i can get usb 2.0??

And i tryed adjusting the settings and still nothing....

Does this have anything to do with my video card?

    Maybe it needs an update?

And i dont have a VCR i have a 20 inch plasma, i also tryed using an S-Video, connected it to my card and to my tv. but no picture came up.

    Thanks

I just use a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card with my laptop for the higher speed USB 2.0 devices. If you go to a vendor like http://www.newegg.com/ and do a search for 'PCMCIA USB cards' you should see quite a few different ones. (I saw 36)

You may need to install a driver, though it probably comes with the card. I believe the SP1 upgrade for XP also has the driver.
