how to raise audio bit rate in TMPGEnc?

When using TMPGEnc to convert AVI to MPEG, under Setting, Audio, then "MPEG-1 Layer II", how can I set the bit rate beyond 384 kbits/second? The pull-down menu only allows at most 384.

384kb/s is the limit. If it's not high enough, you might want to try PCM.

or AC3, I believe the limit is a bit higher, at 448k or so. Of course, you'll need something other than the old TMPGenc to do it, ie: BeSweet, ffmpeg, etc...

if DVD is your target format. If VCD/SVCD is your target, you're stuck with mp2 @ 224 kbps.

That's only for VCD, isn't it ? AFAIK SVCD audio can be anywhere between 32-384kbps and still be compliant.
