Have you tried disabling and re-enabling the network connection.

yea didn't help...I just did some reading on other forums and stuff and it seems that a lot of people are having tha same problem with this adapter. Not everyone with the adapter but I've already counted 120 people that it won't work. Also looks like Linksys knows about the problem and can't fix it, so it is just ignoring it now......

Have you tested the new drivers that Linksys released last week?.

This version passed Windows 2000 and XP WHQL. -

I don’t think changing drivers will work because version 1 is based on PRISM chipset and Version 4 uses Ralink chipset.
My USB adapter is version 2.
If your router is a WRT54G you could also try upgrading its firmware to 3.03.6. Get the file in here: http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=201
After installation of any wireless product, by default, Windows XP launches its own internal configuration utility (Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration Service). Since I had several problem with the Windows own wireless configuration manager, you may try using Linsys Wireless network monitor.
From the systems tray in the lower right corner of your screen, double-click the Wireless Network Connection icon. The Windows XP Wireless Network Connection Screen will appear.
Click Properties. The Windows XP Wireless Network Connections Properties screen will appear.
Make sure that “Use windows to configure my wireless network settings” check box is not selected.
Click OK and close the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration Service screen.
Finally configure the USB card using the Linksys wireless network monitor that came with the latest drivers.
Hoppe this helps. -
