  1. I run into this constantly. Say I have a "title 26". I want to merge it with "title 13", 13 being the last part of the merge. When I edit 26 and select merge, only one, possibly 2 titles to merge are shown. And these don't come after 26 in the list, they are several pages of thumbnails prior. It's like it chooses one or two at random and ignores the rest. This ignores many others at the same speed which should be merge possibilities. Naturally, if I edit 13 it will let me merge 26 at the end, but this is the reverse of what I need. I renamed "title 13" to "title 13_09" similar to the naming convention after a split. Instead of showing up after 26 it still shows up in the same spot but with the new name. Powering off and on makes no difference. Normally I just give up and let it force me to use whatever order, but I need to keep these in sequence this time. Any ideas or tricks?

    A possible trick.
Copy each title to a DVD disc.
change the name of the originals (rather than erasing them - for safety).
Copy the titles back to the HD in the order you want to merge them.
    Merge.

I haven't tried this so I'm not sure it will work.

  3. Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work. I copied both to RW, rename the first one y1 and the second z1, copied them in order to the HDD. WhenI edit y1, the merge option brings up 2 items only from several screens back. When I edit z1, it offers to let me merge y1 - I need this order reversed. I thought I found the perfect recorder after applying all the updates, but this is a kill situation - a SERIOUS deficiency. What happened was, I recorded something for my wife, but only caught the second half. When it was shown again, I got the first half but reception was bad so I wanted to merge the clearer second half with the fuzzy first half. Guess I'll just write 2 sessions and forget it. This sucks. Thanks again for the suggestion though - appreciate it.

Hmm. Well, I'm not at home but maybe I can try it myself later.
